In hopes to appease the masses in the most liberal state in the union, the San Francisco reparations advisory committee seeks to pass a bill that will provide money for its Black population.

San Francisco taxpayers are facing the possibility of having to dish out lump sum payments of $5 million as a San Francisco panel which also consumes taxpayer dollars studies and looks into reparations. This amount of money has been thought up after much deliberation and has been thought enough to compensate for the “decades of harm they have experienced” as it was reported.
The San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee stated; “A lump sum payment would compensate the affected population … and will redress the economic and opportunity losses that Black San Franciscans have endured, collectively, as the result of both intentional decisions and unintended harms perpetuated by City policy,”.
This act would cost the city around $50 billion, over 3.5 times the budget of 2022-2023, which is $14 billion. This committee also suggested wiping out all debts involving education, credit cards, personal, and payday loans for black households.
The committee added it was “not to remedy enslavement” but to “address the public policies explicitly created to subjugate Black people in San Francisco by upholding and expanding the intent and legacy of chattel slavery.”
Criteria
The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- 18 years old
- Identified as black or African American on public documents for at least 10 years
- Must meet at least 2 of the additional standards
Additional standards:
- Been born in or have migrated to San Francisco between 1940 and 1996
- Proof of residency for at least 13 years
- Personally or a direct descendant of someone jailed in the “failed War on Drugs,”
- A descendant of someone enslaved before 1865
Analysis
Firstly, addressing the reasoning behind this decision.
Chattel slavery is the slavery that was most common throughout all human history. The idea that human being can be used as property to be bought, sold, given, inherited etc.
The draft itself acknowledge that San Francisco, not even California, took part in chattel slavery.
While neither San Francisco, nor California, formally adopted
HRC Reparations 2022 Report
the institution of chattel slavery, the tenets of segregation, white supremacy and
systematic repression and exclusion of Black people were codified through legal
and extralegal actions, social codes, and judicial enforcement.
This is all a recommendation and may simply be used as another political hurling stone to make conservatives and republicans look like evil racist monsters. The document also argues that “racial disparities across all metrics have led to a significant racial wealth gap in the city of San Francisco.”
Opinion
Black Americans have as much opportunity as any other demographic, and arguably they have even more now. Identify politics has been in full swing for a couple of decades, if not the entirety of this country’s existence. The left cannot and will not acknowledge these facts, otherwise they lose a significant portion of their voter base.
The Left has always told minorities that they are incapable and need the government’s help in order to make it in this white supremacist world we call America, and all they ask in exchange for their help is your vote. If only you were to vote democrat will all your woes be lifted. Oh? You are still struggling in this life? We haven’t fulfilled our promises? That’s because of those dastardly Republicans and Conservatives who won’t let us do the things we want. You remember that multiple thousand-page bills we put in every now and again, which is just jam packed with all those things we said we’d do? Yeah, well, the republicans and conservatives voted against it! They are so evil!
Tale as old as time. There is another article in the works; “Rich or Poor, Conservatives are probably still happy.” which will talk more about the fundamental philosophy of either party and how it affects their day-to-day lives. But this is another example of that. America is the land of opportunity and one’s life is largely the outcome of ones’ own decisions.
It is so easy to listen to the spoonfuls of “oppression”, “systematic racism”, and other malarkey that the left spews every day. So much easier than swallowing the pill of “This is happening because I chose to do…”.
We cannot acknowledge at all the amount of programs and free money that is available to any other population except white and Asian. Especially in the academic sphere. This political narrative will never be let go. It simply won’t. It will continue for as long as the United States has a leftist party to be running for office.
